Oh Now You Think of This?

George Lucas has decided to call it quits when it comes to feature films, unfortunately the damage is done.  He managed to turn one of the most beloved movie trilogies into a joke.

"We don't want to make movies. We're about to get into television. As far as Lucasfilm is concerned, we've moved away from the feature film thing, because it's too expensive and it's too risky.

"I think the secret to the future is quantity," Lucas told Daily Variety. "Because that's where it's going to end up."

Yes, quantity is the secret, as much crap as you can pump out.

Looks like George hit his peek in 1980 with "Empire Strikes Back". I can't recall anything he's done as good, on his own, since then. Maybe I'm forgetting something (I'm sure someone will mention something). After seeing "Return of the Jedi", a disappointment but an ending, in which I think he rushed through it.Then after 16 years of promises, he turns out these 3 (Again, I believed he rushed)And for what reason? We (the Fans) waited 16 years for something good. I believe we were cheated. Now he talks of TV. why? Because he thinks its easy? Why not just buy the rights to "Friends" and Digitize a Wookie over Joey. I understand it (movies and television) can't all be great, but maybe its time to tap into other resources. Spend some money on talented writers, not on the constant re-editing of the originals(Show of hands, How many copies do YOU own?) I've heard of fan scripts that were better than episodes 12&3. So, Please George, THINK, is this TV show because you have more stories to tell? Or is it because you need another gold back-scratcher?
