Jesse MacBeth claimed to be a former Army Ranger and had a laundry list of war crimes he and his fellow troops were ordered to commit on Iraqi civilians. He created a Myspace profile and a video detailing his "experiences".

Of course, when the anti-war people caught wind of this, they trotted him out like the Alaskan Malamute, Costello, at the 2006 American Kennel Club National Championship. However, in hindsight, that's insulting Costello.
So now, we learn now that Jesse is a fraud. Though there are many on the anti-war left who would rather not let the truth get in the way of a good story.
