Crime OK, Toilets Not

It seems that British jails are being designed to have the toilets facing away from Mecca when a prisoner sits.

Faith leaders had told prison bosses it was unacceptable for Muslim inmates to face Mecca while using the toilet.

"The refurbishment has been carried out with due consideration for all faiths", a Home Office spokeswoman said.

Though they claim there was no added cost, I still can't grasp the idea of making prisoners comfortable.
